8. Social Media Messaging (Instagram & Facebook)
When you comment a keyword (for example "HERNIA") on one of our Instagram or Facebook posts, our automated system may send you a free patient-education guide as a private message.
- What we receive: your Instagram or Facebook user ID, public username or name, the text and time of your comment, your reply to our message (such as tapping "I've followed"), and, on Instagram, whether your account follows ours.
- What we do not collect: medical records, health conditions, phone numbers, addresses, payment details or passwords through this service. Please do not share medical details in comments or messages.
- Why: only to send you the guide you asked for, avoid sending duplicates, and fix errors.
- Where it is processed: through Meta's platforms (Instagram and Facebook) and stored on our own secured server. We do not sell it or use it for advertising profiles.
- How long we keep it: up to 90 days, then it is deleted.
